The Artist as a Woman of a Happy Age

I can't recall why, but a few weeks ago I began to sketch. Then I checked out a book from the library on drawing figures. Now, as luck would have it, my good old friend Leah, a fellow ex-pat of the Star-News in Wilmington, NC, who long ago traded her reporter's notebook for a paintbrush, has kindly included me in a beta test of the online art classes she's launching.

As in print, it feels kind of cool when I see my sketches "published," so I thought I would begin posting some in JAGSF. I also hope as time goes on I will be see improvement! A sampling:
